Every formula we develop undergoes rigorous testing in our labs long before the first samples are sent to our customers, including time in one of our Xenon Arc Weatherometers. These chambers allow us to quickly simulate over 30 years of exposure, allowing us to deliver the confidence that our encapsulants will not yellow or brown—even when exposed to the harshest environments.

A poorly designed encapsulant (X) can quickly discolor, robbing your module of power. STR’s materials (A) stay clear, in the lab and more importantly, in the field.

By maintaining our own trackers in Arizona we are able to prove out our formulas in the real world. Once a formula has been proven in the lab it’s off to the desert where it will be evaluated every year. Not only does this provide valuable correlation data back to our laboratory methods, but it serves as a good testing ground for our customers as well. Some of these panels have been in place over 14 years, and we’re continually adding more.
